In 1978, Wayne Lytton set out with a simple vision: to share the purest maple products Canada had to offer with the world. What began as a passion project rooted in Quebec's Appalachian Mountains quickly became a lifelong pursuit of quality.
Wayne understood that great maple, like great wine, carries the signature of its origin - the mineral-rich soil, the altitude, the long cold winters that force the trees to store more starch, producing a richer, more complex sap come spring.
Today, his son Shawn leads the company as President, continuing the family tradition with the same uncompromising standards. Three generations in, the mission has not changed: quality over quantity, always.
"We source exclusively from a single-origin maple farm in the Appalachian Mountains of Quebec."
Founder Wayne Lytton's mother, Georgina Abrams Lytton, was a celebrated artist whose work resides in the National Gallery of Canada. Her eye for beauty and devotion to craft left an indelible mark on the family.
That same sensibility runs through everything Maple Terroir creates - from the way we source our maple to the care we put into our packaging. We believe that a food product can be a work of art, and every bottle we produce reflects that belief.
Wayne Lytton establishes Maple Terroir with a vision to bring the purest Canadian maple to the world.
Maple Terroir expands to Japan, Korea, and China, bringing authentic Canadian maple products to new markets.
Earns Ecocert, Canada Organic, and USDA Organic certifications - verified pure at every stage of production.
Shawn Lytton leads as President, expanding the product line while staying true to the family's founding principles. Now offering maple syrup, stroopwafels, tea, coffee, and more.
We never mass-produce. Every batch is small, carefully monitored, and held to the highest standards. If it does not meet our bar, it does not leave our facility.
Our maple comes from one place: a single-origin maple farm in Quebec's Appalachian Mountains. We know the terroir, we know the trees, and we know exactly what goes into every bottle.
We are not a faceless corporation. We are a family, and we treat our customers, partners, and producers like family too. Every relationship matters.
